The South County Economic Development Council (SCEDC) elected Real Estate Practice Group Partner Doug Kerner to serve as Chair of the organization\u2019s Board of Directors. Kerner will serve as the 2018-2019 chair of the South County EDC Board. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The SCEDC was formed in 1989 by a group of south San Diego County business and community leaders to promote education and encourage economic development. Member cities include Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City, and San Diego, in addition to San Diego County and the Port of San Diego. SCEDC also works with partners in the northern portion of Baja California, Mexico.<\/p>\n

Kerner previously served as Vice Chair and Chair of the finance committee and currently Chairs the SCEDC Annual Economic Summit.<\/p>\n

In addition to his new role, Kerner serves on the Board of Directors of Friends of Balboa Park. He is also on the Board of the Downtown San Diego Partnership and the Chula Vista Charitable Foundation.<\/p>\n

Kerner specializes in real estate and corporate and securities law. He represents financial institutions, developers and investors in commercial real estate and lending transactions. He also represents public and private clients in land use and environmental matters.<\/p>\n
