{"id":218,"date":"2015-01-27T15:25:07","date_gmt":"2015-01-27T22:25:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/higgslaw.local\/?p=218"},"modified":"2019-04-20T18:33:34","modified_gmt":"2019-04-21T01:33:34","slug":"7500-hour-volunteer-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/higgslaw.com\/7500-hour-volunteer-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"7,500-Hour Volunteer Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Higgs Fletcher &amp; Mack Surpasses 2014 \u201c7,500-Hour Volunteer Challenge\u201d Goal<\/h3>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>&#8211; San Diego\u2019s oldest law firm exceeds community service mission by more than 200 hours; gives back time, financial contributions to various San Diego organizations &#8211;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>SAN DIEGO \u2013 January 27, 2015 \u2013 <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/higgslaw.com\/\">Higgs Fletcher &amp; Mack<\/a>, a San Diego-based, full-service law firm for 75 years, announced today that the firm surpassed its 2014 <em><strong>\u201c7,500-Hour Volunteer Challenge\u201d<\/strong><\/em> goal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/higgslaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/HFM-75th-Logo.jpg\" alt=\"HFM 75th Logo\" width=\"230\" height=\"230\" \/>Clocking in 7,705 hours over 12 months, the challenge was presented to all employees to give back to the San Diego community as part of the firms 75<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary celebration.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIn celebrating our 75th anniversary, we wanted to do something that was not only fun, but truly represented Higgs. Our team engaged in a series of activities that reiterates our commitment to the area in where our partners, associates and staff members live, work and play,\u201d<\/em> said Henry Angelino, Executive Director at Higgs Fletcher &amp; Mack. <em>\u201cThe fact that we not only reached, but exceeded our goal is remarkable. I\u2019m extremely proud of everyone for their commitment to this challenge and the time and effort that went into giving back to so many great organizations in our backyard.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The campaign encouraged members of the firm to collectively donate 7,500 hours of community service along with monetary contributions to select non-profits throughout the year. While Higgs members had the option to select how they wanted to donate their time, there were also firm-led opportunities that employees will be encouraged to consider. Some of those examples included serving military families dinner at the downtown San Diego <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usosandiego.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USO<\/a> facility in January, support for the 22nd Annual <a href=\"http:\/\/sdvlp.org\/events\/wrfsandiego\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Women\u2019s Resource Fair <\/a>last March, a private movie screening of \u201cBoxtrolls\u201d at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rchsd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rady Children\u2019s Hospital<\/a> for its patients this past September and provided dinner and entertainment to the families of hospitalized children at the Ronald McDonald House in October of this year.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI really enjoyed volunteering with fellow Higgs employees at the various events. It brought a sense of camaraderie and team work to the group of people who participate. Although we work together on certain cases as a team, working side by side at these volunteer events brings a different aspect of team work to the firm members,\u201d<\/em> said AnnaLisa Trautwein, Certified Legal Assistant at Higgs Fletcher &amp;
