Effective May 8, 2013, the new form must be used and prior versions are no longer acceptable. The new Form I-9 can be accessed at the following link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/files\/form\/i-9.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Form I-9. <\/a> The Handbook for Employers, Guidance for completing the Form I-9 can be found at the following link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/files\/form\/m-274.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Handbook M-274.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new Form I-9 has a different format and has updated information reflecting changes since the last edition was published. Additional information was provided evidencing that employees from Honduras and Nicaragua that have EAD cards have an automatic extension even if the new EAD card is not yet available.
